Manuscript Description: Handwritten by John L. S. Roberts on printed stationery of Geo. L. Roberts & Bros. Counsellors at Law and sent from Boston, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Roberts tells Mary Baker Eddy that he received the postal card from St. Johnsbury Granite Company, saying that the missing letter "k" has been carved into the "Mark" in Mark Baker's name on the monument to Baker, Eddy's mother, Abigail Baker, and Eddy's husband, Asa Gilbert Eddy. Mary Baker Eddy had ordered the monument after the death of her husband on June 3, 1882, and had it set up in the Baker family lot in Park Cemetery, Tilton, New Hampshire.
