Accession: 009.07.012
Editorial Title: John L. S. Roberts to Mary Baker Eddy, August 8, 1883
Author: John L. S. Roberts
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: August 8, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by John L. S. Roberts on printed stationery of the Law Offices of Geo. L. Roberts & Brothers from Boston, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Roberts is replying to a letter (not extant) from Mary Baker Eddy dated August 7, 1883. He tells her to have courage, and they will meet the enemy (Edward J. Arens) at every point. Arens' attorney (Causten Browne or Brown) will not agree to the amendment, and so they will have to go to Judge Lowell in September and ask him to allow it. Roberts has received a United States Bond for $1,000 ($26,117.57 in 2016) and will keep it for Eddy until she calls for it.
