I tried twice while in ConcordEditorial Note: Concord, New Hampshire to write to you, but everything seemed so inadequate to express what I felt that I thought I would wait.
This is Thanksgiving Day, and it is the most wonderful of any I have ever spent when I think of the blessing which has been given me through God's love. My failures, dear Mother, have been many in the work and yet you give me another priceless gift, added opportunities, privileges, – a never-to-be-forgotten experience. In such great love my hope I see – it is an ever growing wonder. I feel a new basis since those two heavenly days, and my heart gives thanks for such mercy and goodness.
I am grateful too for all who were in the classEditorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy held a final Normal class on November 20-21, 1898, at Christian Science Hall in Concord, New Hampshire. Seventy were invited, and sixty-six students, along with two newspapermen, were able to attend. (so many of whom I recognized as having endured much suffering for the CauseEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science.) and for the inspiring thought that that teaching will go down the ages, and be for all the world. But I think the greatest gladness of all I felt when, after so many of the faithful ones had spoken, you said, "years have rolled off from me while you have been speaking." To feel that at last the children could give you such comfort was deep joy. If we love you we "rejoice because you go to the FatherJohn 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. " – find more & more the rewards of Love.
In thinking over this wonderful class the words seemed to me fulfilled "They shall come from the East, and from the West, & from the North and from the South, and shall sit down in the Kingdom of HeavenLuke 13:29 And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. ." Among so many tried students in this kingdom I feel the very least, but I want to be faithful, and will begin the endeavor to repay Mother's glorious gift in the coinage of Spirit.
