P. S. In reference to Wiggins' performance As Written: perfmance , I feel almost "mean" enough to say, Served you right! It seems to me that your submitting articles to his criticism, is about like GladstoneEditorial Note: William Ewart Gladstone (1809-1898) was a prominent British statesman and four-time Prime Minister of Great Britain. submitting his state papers, as premier of England, to a Boston alderman, to pass upon their correctness from the standpoint of statesmanship. I mean no discourtesy to Mr W– when I say that you have a diction as far above his ability to criticise as Gladstone's papers are above that of the average alderman.
