Accession: 099.21.012
Editorial Title: Lucretia S. Brown to Mary Baker Eddy, August 8, 1881
Author: Lucretia S. Brown
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: August 8, 1881
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Lucretia S. Brown on lined paper from Ipswich, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: This letter contains further details of an invitation to Eddy to come up for a visit to take some time away from her work. Brown had first mentioned a visit in her letter the day before (099.21.011), but this letter contains more specific details. Brown suggests that Eddy come on the 8:58 train on Wednesday, that she have Miranda R. Rice accompany her if she does not want to come alone, and that she spend the night with them. She mentions that because of their current situation, it would be better for Eddy to come with another woman, rather than her husband, Asa Gilbert Eddy, but she expects that Dr. Eddy will not feel jealous. She asks Eddy to write if she prefers to come Thursday or if the weather is more favorable on that day.
