Accession: 114.22.004
Editorial Title: Ellen Latham Clark to Mary Baker Eddy, September 14, 1882
Author: Ellen Latham Clark
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: September 14, 1882
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Ellen Latham Clark on lined paper from Dorchester, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Clark is acknowledging a note she received from Mary Baker Eddy (not extant) on her birthday in July 1882. She is grateful to Eddy for showing her the way of Truth and Holiness, and she values truth and truthfulness more than all other traits. She feels that they counterbalance other faults. She has been vacationing in the mountains and, to her, they are clear representations of spiritual truth in their restful grandeur. She feels that the mountains are closer to representing God's idea of the real than anything else, and she knows that Eddy loves them as well. Clark is moved by how much Eddy has suffered and sacrificed for others and she wants to help Eddy in any way she can.
