Accession: 138.23.002
Editorial Title: R. W. Stackpole to Mary Baker Eddy, August 29, 1880
Author: R. W. Stackpole
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: August 29, 1880
Manuscript Description: Handwritten on lined paper by R. W. Stackpole from Boston Highlands, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Stackpole thanks Mary Baker Eddy for a letter dated August 8, 1880 (not extant). She says the letter has done her much good and has comforted and cheered her. Eddy had headed her letter "Among the Mountains," and Stackpole gives her ideas on the spiritual significance of mountains and references Jesus' Sermon on the Mount (Matt:5-7). She gives a fairly detailed description of the condition and mental state of one of her patients, a Mrs. Capen. She has been giving her Christian Science treatment twice a week.
