Editorial Title: Rebecca W. Stackpole to Mary Baker Eddy, June 8, 1881
Author: Rebecca W. Stackpole
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: June 8, 1881
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Rebecca W. Stackpole on lined paper from Boston Highlands, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Stackpole shares her disappointment that she was not able to see Eddy and everyone last Saturday at the Christian Scientist Association meeting as the bad weather kept her from coming. She says that she wants to "love everybody more and more" and "follow the Dear Master with sincerity and an humble spirit." She hopes that Eddy will correct her if she sees that she is departing in any way from Christian Science. She writes that she consecrated herself to God when she was working at the Dudley St. Baptist Church, but with Christian Science she has learned a new and living way to God, which she didn't learn at the Baptist Church. Stackpole says she is having good success with her patients, and she wishes that the Love of God would influence all of Eddy's students. She writes about some trouble with bronchial beliefs, which she hasn't experienced to this extent in a number of years. Because of Christian Science, she is not worried about the bronchial trouble, but she does ask Eddy's help to "destroy the foe."
