Manuscript Description: Handwritten on the stationery of Rand, Avery & Co. from Boston, Massachusetts. It
is signed "Rand, Avery & Co."
Editorial Note: Rand, Avery & Co. was the publisher of the second edition of Eddy's book, Science and Health (known as the Ark Edition). In this letter, they say that Eddy was wrong in telling
them they made a mistake in setting certain pages of the book because they had set
them in the exact order of the proofs for those pages that they received. They say
the book has been hard enough to do, with the many proofs and corrections, and they
are not eager to be blamed for things that are not their fault.
