My dear Teacher

I rec’d your dispatch As Written: dispack in reply to mine, and your last note with instructions to the C.S.A. Also the booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. yesterday. I cannot write you anythingAs Written:any thing definite yet as to who will go. I went to see some today and did not find any but one at home, Dr A – was out, so was his wife, so I did not accomplish anythingAs Written:any thing there, but will see the Dr and labor with him on the question. Mr Bradford Sherman wants to take the course, and I think it the only thing that will convince him of how little he knows of the true method, It seems to be ignorance with him, But he is so material.

Bell Beecher came and spent the night with me last night, as she often does, I like to have her too she is such a nice child. Well she told me some things about the old Sherman & wife which I thought were serious if true, But they one told by one of his Students and as teachers are often misunderstood & misrepresented they may not be true, AnywayAs Written:Any way I’m willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, Some of them were contradicted today to me from a person whom I think would be likely to know, However he will teach any way and I thought he had better have the instructions. I think the course from you would either reform him, or cure him for forever As Written: ever from teaching.

I expect you will be bitterly disgusted with us all and myself in particular when you see how little we know. I have fully decided not to teach till I have more instructions anywayAs Written:any way I am trying so hard to be patient with these dear darkened students. I am willing to labor any length of time if in the end they will come out right, but I feel so incapable to fill this place, I only promised to act as vice president till January, so I respect they will appoint someoneAs Written:some one else. I trust if they do they will choose one who will stand for the causeEditorial Note: The cause of Christian Science through everythingAs Written:every thing, for there is, as I know, a great deal directed to whoever takes a leading part in this glorious work. I went to see Mrs Mrns today she is all right now. I had been taking this all up as you said Ms Colman has helped me some – I have given her some patients so she has got a start. If she does not succeed now it will be either her own fault, or her husbands. I will write you soon again dear Keep up good heart & image I am very well and think I’m growing every day, but I don’t know anythingAs Written:any thing. Am so dissatisfied with myselfAs Written:my self, I wonder if I ever will,

Affectionately
Ellen B

I told Belle to write you what she had told me but am sorry now that I did.
