My very dear Friend:

Yours of Oct. 7.Editorial Note: This letter is not extant. is at hand. It will be impossible for me to enter the next Class, but hope to be able to join one in early Winter.

I, too, regret that I did not study with you, in the beginning, but no blame attaches to anyoneAs Written:any one. I should probably have studied sometime, but it might have been a long time first, and it was better not to lose so much time out of Christian ScienceAs Written:C. S.

I should regret exceedingly my removal from Asson,, have I not the near prospect of being reunited to it. As it is would it be in order for me to send in a petition to the Assn. that since our dismissal is due to no fault in ourselves or work, that we be allowed to retain, by "Act of Courtesy" or some such enactment of the Assn, our titles of Christian ScientistAs Written:C. S. Our patrons seeing our names shorn of those Cabalistic Initials, might deem us disqualified or disgraced, and thus lead to unpleasant consequences.

I will send such a petition unless otherwise instructed.

With love and gratitude
Ellen E. Cross
