In this work which has come to me to do, I seem to be close upon the glorious proof of your direct descent from David. Hail, thou Daughter of David! Hail Daughter of the King!

There is traditional, historical, and philological proof, besides the "inner witness" which declares the facts as self-evident. Christian Science has given us a proof of Jesus for outweighing an [?] Unclear or illegible  y traditional or historical records, so the same divine witness is directing and declaring your lineal descent from the God-anointed royal line.

I see how, unconsciously to you, the Scripture has been, and is being fulfilled in you. I see something of the mighty meaning of the few words so meekly spoken by you to this, your grateful student. There are the words;- "I walk by faith, I do not see a day before me- God talks with me so familiarly- I trust Him utterly." How else could the Scriptures be fulfilled? How long, to sense, He waited for one who would be obedient, among "His chosen people." Only from His chosen people could such an one come. Again the seed of the Woman bruises the serpent's headGen 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. .

I feel that I ought to write my thought out to you, for this matter is of too great import to let a misconception, or even a crude conception enter into any part of the work. I know you will patiently read, and reprove what is not Scientific. I am giving you an outline of the impelling perceptions (revelations they may be) that will lie behind whatever is written for the public eye.

If you own Prof. Totten's "Our Race" SeriesEditorial Note: Our Race: Its Origin and Its Destiny, a 26-volume series by Charles Adiel Lewis Totten. Totten had endeavored to trace the British Royal line back to David, King of Israel., turn to page 255 of Series No. 1 Vol. No. 4. You will see, or rather, I think that I see, that, as in the time of Jesus' coming, there is to-day Corrected: today a conscious looking for the coming of the "Woman clothed in the Sun,"Rev 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars: but the coming of that Woman is not at all as the most spiritually minded of the believers in matter expect; and yet, like John the Baptist – their concentrated wisdom, looking for the fulfilment of prophecy, proclaims Her presence; but, also like him, would send to Her and ask: "Is this she for whom we look, or is there another yet to come."Matt 11:3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

A dilemma presents itself in this work, which I must state to you, for the "horn" must be chosen which will be most conducive to the highest interests of our Cause. It is this.= For the principal facts of history and tradition, I shall be indebted to Prof. Totten's scholarly labor in collecting and correlating authentic accounts, both sacred and profane- Credit must be given him, but how to doit him justice without setting the whole Science field on fire with a craze for Prof. Totten's books. Whether that would be wise becomes a question with me, because I know how fascinating the first book that I read, was to me. I had to stop, before finishing it, and do some vigorous work, not to be carried away by the proof upon proof of the material fulfilment of God's Word

I turned to Science and HealthEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy to break the spell of the fascination, and to my glad amazement, I read in it the profound, and inspired recognition of the necessity of that fulfilment, as well as the spiritual. I saw too, how they have both come down the centuries side by side. Two passages, especially opened my eyes.– One was,– "Immortal Mind, governing all, must be acknowledged supreme in the physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual."Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures427:13Death is but another phase of the dream that exist‐
 ence can be material. Nothing can interfere with the
427:15harmony of being nor end the existence of
 man in Science. Man is the same after as
 before a bone is broken or the body guillotined. If man
427:18is never to overcome death, why do the Scriptures say,
 “The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death”? The
 tenor of the Word shows that we shall obtain the victory
427:21over death in proportion as we overcome sin. The great
 difficulty lies in ignorance of what God is. God, Life,
 Truth, and Love make man undying. Immortal Mind,
427:24governing all, must be acknowledged as supreme in the
 physical realm, so-called, as well as in the spiritual. The other was:– "Divine Love must be seen and felt by mortals." Then I was able to read on in the "halo of Christian Science", and differentiate between the "two witnesses" of God – ie- the material and spiritual fulfilment of His Word.

Would not this be part of the material fulfilling?– Paul says, "Present ye your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God."Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. It seems to me that the only way that can be done is through the reign of Christ in us (letting "none but His likeness (Christ) abide in us.") individually. If that be done individually, then the result must be that collectively as well, the Christ would reign; thus, the millenium Corrected: millennium would mean that the whole world would be presented a living body (error destroyed) – a sacrifice, to be laid on the altar; that is, – "Immortal Mind would govern all in the physical realm so-called," and the "passing away of this world", which Jesus prophesied would be the "fire coming down from heaven" to consume the "acceptable" sacrifice, which, "without blemish" is laid on the altar of Divine Science.

Words but poorly convey what I wish to tell you. All this is but the ultimate of the "patient obedience to a patient God,"Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures242:15Self-love is more opaque than a solid body. In pa‐

 solve with the universal solvent of Love the adamant

 which wars against spirituality and is the law of sin
 and death. of individuals – in other words,– of the "purification from sense and self"Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures323:28The effects of Christian Science are not so much seen
 as felt. It is the “still, small voice” of Truth
323:30uttering itself. We are either turning away
 from this utterance, or we are listening to it and going
 up higher. Willingness to become as a little child and324:1to leave the old for the new, renders thought receptive of
 the advanced idea. Gladness to leave the false landmarks
324:3and joy to see them disappear, — this disposition helps
 to precipitate the ultimate harmony. The purification
 of sense and self is a proof of progress. “Blessed are the
324:6pure in heart: for they shall see God.” of each one of us, and through that uplifting of the Christ, all men are drawn unto him. Indeed, the whole creation does groanRom 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. and travail in its long waiting for the [?] Unclear or illegible  revelation of the sons of God.

I will not trouble you any more with this until it is finished unless I need some additional facts which you alone can supply; but I feel that you should see the manuscript before anyone else sees it. My data are not all supplied yet. I am following a "trail" that I think will lead without break to Fergus I", the first King of Scotland. From him Prof. Totten takes the line back to David.

Pardon me, dear Mother, but I must write one thing more to you. The principal motto in your coat of arms is "Tria [?] Unclear or illegible juncta in uno." That belongs from time immemorial to the Order of the Bath. The name of this Order is derived from a ceremony of bathing (baptizing), as an emblem of the purity, overcoming, and ministry of one by the laws of chivalry. Chivalry, refers to the character, qualifications of Knights-errant; as valor, power to overcome, protection of the defenceless, courtesy etc A Knight-errant, is one who "goes about doing good;" fighting the battles of the defenceless; ministering etc etc. in the service of his lord, or king.

Jesus was the first Knight-errant, was he not? He "went about doing good"Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. , that is in the service of his Father, Lord, the King of Kings. His preparation – the final one before entering upon his mission – was his baptism (washing). In him also was revealed the fulfilment and prophecy – "Tria juncta in uno "—" Three united in one "— Father, Son, and Holy Ghost – the Trinity now completed in Divine Science.

The disciples were the first members of the "Order of the Baptism" (Order of the Bath) founded by Jesus. They were of the Tribe of Benjamin – the Tribe that was lent to Judah as light-bearers. Jesus sent them to the lost Tribes of Israel and the lost remnant of Judah as Knights-errant in his name.

Is it far-fetched, chimerical, or fantastic to suppose that the Order of the Bath, as now revived is not the materialized Order of Baptism, – that set apart for purity, for overcoming of the foe, for ministry the mMaster and his disciples? Has not everything that Jesus did and inaugurated been so grossly materialized that the original spirit or intention has been almost lost?

Among no other people is this order found except the "people Israel"– and the first Knights (the disciples) were sent to no other.

I think I shall write this concerning the Order of the Bath to Prof. Totten.

Tell me if this does not appeal to you as self-evidently true. Probabilities are often as strong proof as written record, or eye-witnessCorrected:eyewitness.

Am I wrong in believing that this whole matter is of most vital moment? I sit in awe before the possibilities that unfold before me whenever I turn to this subject.

Our little Church is in line – in form and practice – in the Sunday morning service. In humility and obedience, we hope to be in line in spirit and understanding.
