Accession: 226.37.007
Editorial Title: Fanny McNeil Potter to Mary Baker Eddy, April 27, 1882
Author: Fanny McNeil Potter
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: April 27, 1882
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Fanny McNeil Potter from Brooklyn, New York.
Editorial Note: Potter had received a letter and invitation from Mary Baker Eddy to attend a reception that was held for Eddy and her husband when they returned to Massachusetts from their trip to Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia. (The letter is not extant.) Potter regrets she cannot accept the invitation. She reports that she is "in heaven," apparently because she has had a tooth pulled, and she says she is away from all that is unpleasant. She is with a dear friend who cares for her but hopes to spend part of the summer with Eddy. Potter desires "health perfected," and she believes that Eddy can impart that to her, as well as knowledge with which she can benefit others. She loves Eddy's sweet presence, her heart goes out to Eddy, and she wishes she could see her. She ends by sending love to both Mary Baker Eddy, and her husband, Asa Gilbert Eddy.
