Dear Madam

Your registered note of the 4th is at hand. Your Mrs Eddy article also was duly received and somewhat attended to as follows.

The managing Editor of the Globe DemocratEditorial Note: St. Louis Globe Democrat I could not afford to ask a favor from The business manager I was several days finding. We found that no notice of Mrs Es death had appeared in that paper. But Mr Hauser promised me to insert the article or a notice of its contents. I have waited patiently but have not seen that promise redeemed, and I supposed it was because The Editor thought its insertion might serve me. I could not see what use there was in Mrs E’s denying her death in a paper that had not published it so I did not direct the insertion of the letter as an advertisement.

If the Lady desires this done she had better communicate directly with the papers I have been much away from town of late which I beg you to take as an excuse for more close attention to your request.

I don’t think Mr Hauser has treated me just right in this matter but I can’t afford to quarrelAs Written:quarel with a newspaper just now. My wife who has been of late quite unwell sends her love

Very respectfully
Your obedient servant
