My dear Teacher

It was indeed a great treat to receive a letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. from you, and I thank you very much. You wish me to teach; but don’t you think it would be best for me to first take the "Normal Course". I should like very much to take that, also the "Class in Theology" which I think must be very interesting. Do you expect to have a class in either of these Courses this Spring and if so will you please let me know at what time? so I could make arrangements to go. that is if you think I am ready to enter either class.

There is also another matter which we would like to have your advice on. We have had a nice lot and a few hundred dollars promised towards the erection of a small church where we could hold our weekly meetings. What do you think about this project; we would like to do as you think best. When we read about your meetings there, how much we would like to meet with you. we get a great deal of help and comfort from the Journal. The last number was very nice. Are waiting anxiously for the new books which I know will prove of great benefit to us. We all unite in love and gratitude for the many blessings you have bestowed upon us by your toil and sacrifice.

Your loving student
Laura E. Sargent.
