My beloved Teacher

I knew you would be glad to hear of the service we had at the little Church. I enclose a notice from one of our papers. We sent to Rev Mr Adams to know if he would come and preach for us, and he kindly consented not only to preach twice on Sunday but to lecture on Monday evening. His texts were (morning) "Our FatherMatt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. " In the evening "Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord.Deut 6:4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord: " I wish you could have heard him talk. The house was well filled each time and he manifested so much love and "good-will towards menLuke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. " that the people seemed to be very favorably impressed. The Students were unanimous in praise of his words, and the loving, winning manner in which they were presented. Well this is the happy side of the picture. Now for the other. On Monday afternoon As Written: after-noon Mr Adams met the members of our Association and the bombshellAs Written:bomb-shell exploded. he very frankly told us he was laboring under the charge of dishonesty in appropriating his Teachers works in the article on Christian ScienceAs Written:C. S. in the Inter OceanEditorial Note: Chicago Inter-Ocean of Feb 5,th. We did not know what to say or think. he spoke very tenderly of you. We hope this trouble may be satisfactorily arranged so he may still have his Teacher's As Written: Teachers approval and work with us for our beloved Cause. Will close with tender love to you from all your little band, your little children in Christ.

Lovingly your student.
