Accession: 269.41.004
Editorial Title: Susanna L. Durant to Mary Baker Eddy, October 11, 1881
Author: Susanna L. Durant
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: October 11, 1881
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Susanna L. Durant on lined paper from Roslindale, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Durant is responding to a letter from Eddy (not extant) regarding someone Durant knows who is to study with Eddy but may not be able to make it in time for class. She asks that Adelaide Draper enclose all her notices in an envelope rather than sending postcards to her. She says that she does not think she will be able to make it to Lynn tomorrow, but she has given in her name for $50 ($1,261.48 in 2016) and trusts the rest of the business to the members of the church. She asks to call some Saturday afternoon to ask Eddy some questions, but requests to meet privately and expresses a need to do her work quietly right now. She mentions, without explaining further, that some things have happened to her that she felt were almost like direct messages from God. She writes that God will help her if she keeps her thought pure.
