Editorial Title: William I. Gill to Mary Baker Eddy, January 14, 1887
Author: William I. Gill  John S. Norvell
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Annotator: Sarah H. Crosse  Mary Baker Eddy
Date: January 14, 1887
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by John S. Norvell on lined paper from Oskaloosa, Iowa. The end of this letter includes a note written later by William I. Gill meant for Mary Baker Eddy.
Archival Note: This document includes notations in the handwriting of Sarah H. Crosse and Mary Baker Eddy. All of the text below the greeting on page one, as well as most of the text on page two (including the salute and signature), are crossed out with long vertical lines and cross-outs. See the scan of the original for these edits.
Editorial Note: It appears that an excerpt from this letter was being prepared to be potentially published in The Christian Science Journal, but was not published. Although Sarah H. Crosse served as the Journal's publisher and manager until August 1886, it appears as though she was still involved during this time.

Handshift:William I. GillDear Teacher;
I am sorry Mr. Norvell replies so evasively; and I have written him a note to that effect. His wandering life will not qualify him for the pastorate. The sooner he accords with your wishes the better.— G. written Jan 14 1887
