My Dear Teacher,

I acknowledge the truth of your letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. not because I understand it fully but because you wrote it.

I will confess that I had believed until torn by students that when I had made up my own mind to reflect Truth, I was to succeed, but I am sure now that animal magnetism claims the power to make me do and say things– the exact opposite to my desires and intentions.

At first this frightened me, as the poison of sickness did two years ago– now I am calmer again - and I will battle with the enemy on this question of sin as faithfully as I did the old fear of sickness– You shall not suffer through me–

The plots against my progress will fall through for I am not going onto the other side
