I am exceedingly sorry to have caused you & Mr. F. so much trouble.

I never had any trouble before, my name being an uncommon one, all letters that have any resemblance to my name come to me, being so well known both here & Jackson, but no booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. have been rec’d either at this or Jackson office with Hein –or– Steinmann.

I am very much interested in this ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, it is so grand, of so wide a scope, & you must feel so happy in being permitted to do so much to advance it. May I ask a few questions? Who is the Author of this ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, was it never practiced until As Written: untill you started it? & is it the same that is making such headway As Written: head way in Germany? or did it originate there? The German mind seems especially adapted to metaphysics, as the researchers of the great authors show.

Being so much interested I feel as though I would like to know the original starting point, for my own & others satisfaction.

How long a course must a student take to fit them for practicing this grand scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science? & Are these distinct institutions, the “Metaphysical” & “Christian Scientist” Colleges, or are they one & the same?

Pardon my many questions but I have hosts of friends who are as interested as I am & who ask me, & I cannot tell them, but now that I have rec’d my booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy., (though not yet read) I have something to hold to, & will see that this ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science is spread, be that both your Colleges & your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. may grow in favor, in & near GrandAs Written:Grd Rapids, as they seem to be doing in Chicago; Hoping you will answer my questions & begging pardon for trouble occasioned you & Mr. Frye, & with the wish of “A happy New Year” to yourself & all “Metaphysic friends
