Accession: 382.50.008
Editorial Title: Eldridge J. Smith to Mary Baker Eddy, November 2, 1877
Author: Eldridge J. Smith
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: November 2, 1877
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Eldridge J. Smith on lined paper from Washington, DC.
Editorial Note: Smith has returned from Minnesota and has received a letter from Mary Baker Eddy, apparently telling him of her troubles with Daniel H. Spofford. Smith tells Eddy that he is a good judge of character and looks for charitableness in a person. He says there are too many surface Christians. He feels his business may take him to New York and Boston by the end of the month and that he would love to meet her. He asks for God's blessings on her and wisdom to guide her.
