Editorial Note: Smith is responding to a letter (not extant) that he received from Mary Baker Eddy. He tells Eddy that he is in New York City and is waiting to hear if his wife, Melinda H. Smith, can join him there. If she does, they will travel on to Boston and will be near Eddy. He hopes that Eddy and his wife will get to know each other better. The rest of the letter is filled with effusive praise for Eddy.
