Dear Mrs Eddy.

The Journal of C.S. came to hand yesterday. I never was more pleased in my life, than to read your defence of Christian ScienceEditorial Note: This is in the March 1885 issue of The Christian Science Journal.. It is just what we needed. Am glad it is to be printed in book form. Enclosed As Written:Inclosed please find $1.00Editorial Note: $1.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $26.45 in 2019. for one dozen of the pamphlets. I shall enjoy passing them aroundAs Written:arround. I have found out since I came back here, that the patient I had out here, was induced to leave off, by an evangelistAs Written:evangelest preacherAs Written:preecher. He told her I was a humbug and that the sooner she got rid of me the better for her. She took his adviceAs Written:advise, but did not tell me anythingAs Written:any thing about it. After I came back she begged me to keep on with her case, but wanted an M.D. but I would not. So she does not like me anymoreAs Written:any more. The doctors have given up all hopes for her. When I had the case she was improving all the time. She went down as soon as they took her. The doctors out here are better than the ministers about this ScienceEditorial Note: Christian Science.

I inserted a notice in the paper last evening that I had your booksEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy on sale. Am in hopes to bring it to the notice of the people here in some way or other.

I heard through Mrs Melissa Smith that you had a large class of 30

I was so glad to hear it.

I have taught my husband and it is his intention to go into this work. I have tried to teach him as near right as I knew how. He says if he ever gets the chance he will study with you, and I hope he will.

I do wish I could have some of the Journals of C.S. to give away in this town, as it is an entirely new field here. I trust I may awaken the people here so that they may seek the understanding of Christian Science, and find out that it means salvation from sin sickness and death.

God bless & keep you from all belief of evil is the prayer of your loving student
Janet T. Colman.
