Accession: 488.55.009
Editorial Title: Henrietta E. Day to Mary Baker Eddy, January 12, 1882
Author: Henrietta E. Day
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: January 12, 1882
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Henrietta E. Day on lined paper from Boston, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Day begins by telling Mary Baker Eddy that Eddy's letter (not extant) did not reach Day until after Eddy's departure that afternoon, and that is why Day did not acknowledge Eddy's letter in person. Day regrets that Eddy should feel wounded by a "hasty expression" on Day's part, as she did not intend any disrespect. Day has already said this to Eddy and is now repeating it in writing. She is not able to make any fuller reparation where no wrong was intended. Day says that if Eddy will write to her a few days before Eddy's departure, she will try to come to Lynn to see Eddy, if that is agreeable to Eddy. She closes the letter with kind regards to "Dr. Eddy."
