My Dear Teacher

I do hope you will read this through and answer. It is one week to dayEditorial Note: today, since our lessons ended & we left for home the same night I was taken with a very severe pain in the small of my back & until Tuesday, could not stand straight or walk with without As Written: out pain & it not left me yet but not as severe. This week have had all the symptoms of my monthly sickness quite severe but have not seen anything yet

The Neurologic pain in my left shoulder & base of head is very severe. My breathing is with labor & sharp lasting pains through my lungs at times. Especially If I move quick & am talking

In fact not a pain has left me long at a time. I feel as though I had rather be well and not have the scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science, than have the scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science & not be able to demonstrate it

My Husband is quite disappointed As Written: disapointed in my not being better if not well. I am not one whit better, but worse, for before going I thought surely If I go to head headquarters As Written: quarters & get the scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science I shall be well

I do not doubt the scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science but I have not yet grasped Enough of the scientific Principle to Exclude all the material but it is not the easiest thing to unbind ones own chains; Methinks I hear you say you have not done as you were taught.. but to the best of my abilities I have used the Principle & tried to defend myself from the Enemy; also I think I hear you say forget your yourself As Written: self all is very good logic, but not always easy to practice when beliefs come thick & fast

I must speak of my side for four days it discharged but very little but yesterday to to today As Written: day quite freely. I have spoke of nearly all my ailments should not of mentioned them only they make me suffer so much in belief; yet sometimes they try to make me think they are the realities but I do not think any person ever fought more for this scienceEditorial Note: Christian Science than I have to do yet

I have seen Mrs Williams often she is happy it does my good to meet her: remember me to the members of your association.
