Received your kind letterEditorial Note: This letter is not extant. Saturday, the 18th. I thank you very much for your kind advice to me it did me good, gave me new thoughts and seemed to raise me higher in this great truthEditorial Note: Christian Science that I have so lately studied.
The lady that I wrote you of passed through the belief of death about 3. A.M. Monday.
She was a Roman Catholic - did I tell you.
Am sorry; Oh I had such hopes of her and was so happy, why the case seemed so easy to me until I found out that she was being watched so closely by the Rev. and others and then I cannot say that I had any conscious fear of the case until I thought (I know I have no right to judge others.) that they were not doing with her as I had asked them.
I can and will raise above it for God is on our side and no one can be against us and prevailRom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? .
I took another patient this morning for a week or more – said she wanted to try and be helped through me without going to Materia Medica (to use her words nearly) told her I thought that she could be healed for nothing was impossible with GodMatt 19:16 ¶And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? Matt 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. Matt 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Matt 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Matt 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Matt 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. Matt 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Matt 19:23 ¶Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. Matt 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Matt 19:25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? Matt 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. Mark 10:17 ¶And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life? Mark 10:18 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God. Mark 10:19 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. Mark 10:20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. Mark 10:21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. Mark 10:22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions. Mark 10:23 ¶And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! Mark 10:24 And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God! Mark 10:25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Mark 10:26 And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved? Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. Luke 1:37 For with God nothing shall be impossible. Luke 18:18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? Luke 18:19 And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God. Luke 18:20 Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. Luke 18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up. Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me. Luke 18:23 And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich. Luke 18:24 And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God! Luke 18:25 For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. Luke 18:26 And they that heard it said, Who then can be saved? Luke 18:27 And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God. etc., But I told her I could not tell how long it would take for her to be healed.
I love my work more and more as the light comes to me and if I do have persecutions they are some of the crosses and will only tend to make me stronger. Jesus was meek and loved even those who persecuted him.
