Accession: 502.56.004
Editorial Title: H. F. Pickard to Mary Baker Eddy, December 9, 1881
Author: H. F. Pickard
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: December 9, 1881
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by H. F. Pickard on lined embossed paper from Ipswich, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Pickard tells Mary Baker Eddy that she has found Eddy's explanations of truth far superior to anything she has come in contact with before. She has been studying, but she now feels the need for a better understanding to enable her to demonstrate and explain Christian Science to others. She is not planning to set up a public practice, but she wants to be prepared to assist people when needed. She is interested in studying in a class with Eddy and has heard that married couples and their children who all study in one class get discounts. Her husband and child have passed on, but she hopes she might find someone to attend class with her. She says there are many obstacles standing in the way of her coming to a class, but she would like for Eddy to send terms so that she can decide whether or not she can come to Eddy's next class or the one after.
