Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Philetus Burnham on embossed lined paper from Lowell, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Burnham is responding to a letter (not extant), dated May 22, 1883, that he received
from Eddy. He tells her that he has received the second issue of The Christian Science Journal and has subscribed. He wishes a thousand copies of the Journal could be circulated in Lowell, Massachusetts. He praises its appearance and helpfulness,
but he feels that it could gain wider circulation with a lower price, as there is
so much inexpensive literature currently available.
