Editorial Note: In the first part of this letter, Carter speaks of contending with some sort of opposition.
Later, he tells Mary Baker Eddy that he has heard from Edward H. Hammond that Eddy would be willing to teach a class on Christian Science twenty to twenty-five
miles outside of Boston if enough students could be recruited for it.
