Manuscript Description: Handwritten by John W. Carter on lined paper from Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Carter tells Mary Baker Eddy that he has failed to recruit enough people for her to
teach a class in Christian Science in his area. He also asks about distributing copies
of "The Ministry of Healing" by Adroninam J. Gordon. He realizes that Gordon's views are not in complete harmony with Christian Science,
but he feels that perhaps those views would lead people further in the right direction.
He asks Eddy to tell him if she preaches a sermon that is particularly relevant to
his case, and he will try to come to hear it and will bring others with him. He writes
that a number of his friends have expressed interest in Christian Science and that
his wife is supportive as well.
