Editorial Note: Carter is replying to a letter (not extant) he received from Mary Baker Eddy. He and
his wife were students in Eddy's class that began on August 20, 1883, but left the
class after three lessons. Carter's letter here discusses a disagreement he is having
with Eddy about his tuition for the class. He also reports strange symptoms of illness
he is currently experiencing.
