Accession: 543.57.003
Editorial Title: Joseph W. French to Mary Baker Eddy, December 30, 1883
Author: Joseph W. French
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: December 30, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Joseph W. French on embossed lined paper from Manchester, New Hampshire.
Editorial Note: French tells Mary Baker Eddy that he is grateful for Christian Science and that his health was restored when he received Christian Science treatment through prayer from Eddy's student, Mary F. Berry. He would like to study with Eddy, but he does not have the funds to do so. He is a laborer, working for small pay. He believes he could earn sufficient money by practicing Christian Science healing, but in doing so, earning money would not be his primary object and he would gladly help those who are unable to pay him. He asks that Eddy send him her lowest rate for study at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. He also mentions that he is young and has a small family. A notation on the letter indicates that it was answered on January 8, 1884.
