I received your prompt & kind answer to my letter & I am very grateful for it. I have delayed writing in return, in order to tell you definitely concerning the success of my plans to avail myself of the joyous truths you unfold, which to me appear like positive proofs of the ushering in of the MillennialAs Written:Millenial Age; & the fact that these truths so long hidden have been brought to light through the instrumentality of woman, has great weight in my mind, for on the Resurrection Morn, did not Christ first appear to Mary & bid her "go tell my disciplesAs Written:diciples" &c, after withholding his presence from the disciplesAs Written:diciples he loved, who had sought him at his tomb before her.? I wish with all my heart to be able to demonstrate the truths I cherish, & though the barrier seems impassible at present, I think some way will be opened that I may learn of you, as it was that I heard of you, My circumstances are these: My age is fifty three, My husband is sixty nine – we have been married twenty-sixAs Written:twenty six years & are without children – We have a few hundred dollars laid aside for the requirements of old age, which I wished to encroach upon to give you in exchange for the wisdom you have to impart, but as my husband has no interest or belief in Bible or other truths he cannot understand, & as woman has no title to what is rightfully her own, I am powerless to do what I wish to do – I have a few boarders with which to help myself a little, but cannot command over one hundred dollars. Before I learned your address I sent to Lockwood, Brooks, &. Co for your Science & Health – They say they are now out of print, but will send as soon as the new edition is issued –

I did not receive the copy of your paper you said you would send me. –would like to subscribe if I knew your terms –

Judging from observation I have learned to think that my ability to make myself generaly useful, is fully equal to the average, and should you find a place where I could earn what my purse lacks, to pay for the course of study you offer, you may be sure to command my best energies. Hoping to hear from again should circumstances prove favorable I remain your Would–be–DiscipleAs Written:Deciple
