My Very Dear Teacher.

Hoped to have seen you last association day to speak to you about my cousin’s not coming to study with you in this class –

It was a great disappointment to me to receive word from them after the class had commenced that they did not understand that your terms were $300.Editorial Note: $300.00 in 1885 is the equivalent of $7,941.00 in 2019. until it was too late to let me know before the class commenced that they could not at present pay so much, as my cousin had not had any work for the last year –

I worked so earnestly to get them to come and study with you, it was a great disappointment not to have accomplished it, but I will continue to work and hope on.

God bless you. What a grand reply you have made in the last Journal to Joseph Cook and Dr Gordon.

They must chemicalizeEditorial Note: This is a reference to “chemicalization,” a term Mary Baker Eddy used to refer to a temporary stirring up of symptoms or process of “fermentation” as errors of various types are being destroyed. pretty thoroughly if ever they read or hear it read.

The battle is to be fierce the coming months with professing Christians but right will prevail. “if God be for us who can be against us?”Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

We are having better opportunity every day to learn of God’s As Written: Gods love, wisdom, and truth.

Lovingly yours.
