Accession: 593A.61.003
Editorial Title: Samuel Putnam Bancroft to Mary Baker Eddy, January 16, 1882
Author: Samuel Putnam Bancroft
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: January 16, 1882
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Samuel Putnam Bancroft on lined printed stationery of the Office of J. C. Bennett & Barnard, Manufacturers of Fine Shoes & Slippers, from Lynn, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Bancroft addresses Mary Baker Eddy as "Madam," and raises a question related to a conversation they had. He writes that they had changed the by-laws so that seven were needed to form a quorum, likely in the Christian Scientist Association or the Church of Christ (Scientist), and wonders how they will do business with four. Eddy apparently wants Bancroft to help her with some business, but he says that he needs a full and complete statement of all business she proposes to transact before agreeing to help.
