Accession: 650.68.014
Editorial Title: Moses Emory Wright to William H. Bradley, February 8, 1884
Author: Moses Emory Wright
Recipient: William H. Bradley
Date: February 8, 1884
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Moses Emory Wright on embossed lined paper from Roslindale, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: This letter, from Pastor Moses Emory Wright, certifies that William H. Bradley and Rachel Bradley have been acceptable members of the Methodist Church in Roslindale, Massachusetts. It was commonplace in Mary Baker Eddy's time, and still is today, for a church to write a letter vouching for the Christian character and good standing of someone leaving his or her current church and planning to join a new one.

M. Emory Wright,
Pastor.

Dear Bro.

Being a little in doubt how far my rights extended, in the matter of your certificate, I consulted the presiding elder whose opinion was that I could not grant it. On second thought, I have written to Bishop Foster, who thinks it a proper thing to do. So I send it inclosed.

Yours truly,
M. E. W.
