Editorial Note: Curtiss asks Mary Baker Eddy for information about the Christian Science method of healing and wonders if she can obtain Eddy's lectures and book, Science and Health, to study at home. A notation on the letter indicates it was answered on October 25, 1883, and a further notation in the handwriting of Calvin A. Frye indicates that the reply (not extant) likely stated that, while one can learn much from studying Science and Health, a teacher is required if one is to practice Christian Science properly.
