Manuscript Description: Handwritten by J. W. Glidden on embossed lined paper from Chicago, Illinois.
Editorial Note: Glidden is replying to a letter from Mary Baker Eddy (not extant) dated October 26,
1883. He says that he will send Eddy $10.50 ($274.23 in 2016) as payment for an order
of three copies of Eddy's book, Science and Health, as well as three copies each of the pamphlets, Christian Healing and The People's God. He has been waiting for these for some time and would like to receive them as soon
as possible. He adds that two months ago he ordered a subscription to The Christian Science Journal and gave the payment to Bradford Sherman who says he sent it in to Eddy. Glidden would like to see the subscription start
soon. A notation on the letter indicates that Glidden's orders were sent on November
1, 1883.
