I come to you (although a stranger) feeling that you can and will help me. My dear Mother was thrown from a carriage one year ago this month striking upon her head and cutting an ugly gash about 7 inches long. on the scalp it was sewedAs Written:sowed up & done very nicely, we little thinking of her getting worse. but in about a month she began to almost lose the use of her limbs & now she can hardly walk across the house she is very fleshy womanAs Written:women weighing 240 lbs. Our Dr says water is gathering around her brain & she cannotAs Written:can not even patch, but to talk with her she seems very natural. Dear Mrs can you help her. please do not throw my letter one side but write me soon & tell me if you can do anything for her withoutAs Written:with out seeing her. if not tell me whetherAs Written:whither it will make any difference when she comes.

I Pray GodAs Written:god will help you in your work & Oh I pray that my mother can be spared me yet a little longer although she is at the advanced age of 62 years
