My Dear Mrs Eddy.

I have never had the pleasure of meeting you. but love you through your bookEditorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and the blessed truth you have bought to us. Two years ago I was an Invalid. The Physicians telling me I had Cancer of the Uterus. I read "Science and health."Editorial Note: Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy and healed myself. — later I studied with Mrs Gestefeld, an earnest ChristlikeAs Written:Christ like Teacher, who has been very kind in leading me in the right way. I have property and means of my own but business As Written: buisness in the west has been dull and my buildings not rented As Written: remted , but I hope to overcomeAs Written:over come all obstacles and take the normal course of you the coming spring.

When I came here last Oct there was not more than one or two copies of "Science and health" in the City. In one week I had purchasers for twenty-fiveAs Written:twenty five copies. I have scattered the Journal and Mrs As Written: Ms Gestefeld'sAs Written:Gestefelds, "What is Christian Science." far and wide over the eastern part of Iowa. I send you a Copy of a paper published here with article criticizing As Written: criticising the "latest Craze" as they say. The Reporter asked me to what school I belonged, I told him to Mrs Eddy's As Written: Eddys and that Mrs Gestefeld instructed me. he has written it as if I stated I was your pupil. which I did not. I wanted you to know I had spoken truthfullyAs Written:truth fully. hence I write you, I am working hard and living the doctrine as near as I can; and growing into the same mind which was also in ChristPhil 2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: .

I have been blessed by being able to bring many suffering ones to understand there is no sensation in matter, I am a Southern woman. Mrs Eddy, and the thought has occurred As Written: occured to me, knowing their ideas, and modes of living; and prejudices as I do. Could I not do a great work in demonstrating this Science in the South, after I have taken the course of you. When they once understood it they would be devoted ScientistsEditorial Note: Christian Scientists. I hope to send a long list of subscribers for Journal this week.
