Accession: 692B.80.063
Editorial Title: Unknown to Mary Baker Eddy, December 12, 1883
Author: Unknown
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: December 12, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by an unknown author on embossed lined paper from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Archival Note: See L17671 for an annotated transcription of this letter. The notation by Eddy on this letter is in the handwriting of Calvin A. Frye, who apparently wrote down what Eddy dictated to him.
Editorial Note: Maria M. McNitt's sister, who does not give her name, is writing on behalf of her niece, McNitt's daughter, who is very ill and would like to be given Christian Science treatment through prayer by Mary Baker Eddy. The author of the letter describes various symptoms being experienced and writes that doctors believe the illness may be consumption (tuberculosis). If Eddy cannot help, the aunt would like to know if Eddy can recommend Martha E. Sherman of Chicago to give Christian Science treatment. A notation by Eddy on the letter says that Sherman is not her student, thus she cannot recommend her. Another notation says that the letter was answered on December 20, 1883. Eddy adds that she (Eddy) is not taking patients.
