Accession: 697AP2.81.022
Editorial Title: Henry Newstetter to Mary Baker Eddy, July 23, 1883
Author: Henry Newstetter
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: July 23, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Henry Newstetter on embossed paper from Massillon, Ohio.
Editorial Note: Newstetter, an employee of a dry goods store, discusses his limited financial resources and reiterates his belief that Jesus healed the sick and that man is the image and likeness of God. He would like to study with Mary Baker Eddy in August or September 1883 and asks Eddy for information about whether she will accept a partial payment now for his tuition, with balance paid later. He also asks about boarding costs while in Boston. (There is no evidence that Newstetter ever took a class with Mary Baker Eddy.)
