Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Henry Newstetter on embossed lined paper from Massillon, Ohio.
Editorial Note: Newstetter tells Mary Baker Eddy that he believes that with God's help he will be
able to raise the money necessary to have class instruction in Christian Science from
Mary Baker Eddy. However, his wife is not supportive of his interest in Christian
Science and is a dedicated Presbyterian. Newstetter describes an ailment he has. He
encloses $5.00 ($130.59 in 2016) in hopes that Eddy will give him Christian Science
treatment through prayer for the ailment. He also provides his wife's address in case
Eddy wants to write to his wife directly. (There is no evidence that Newstetter ever
studied with Mary Baker Eddy.)
