Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Ann Payne on lined paper from Springfield, Massachusetts.
Editorial Note: Payne is responding to a letter from Mary Baker Eddy (not extant) about the cost of
tuition at the Massachusetts Metaphysical College. The Paynes are unable to afford tuition and respectfully decline Eddy's offer to
study with her at the College. Payne hopes to afford the cost of studying with Eddy
in the future and says that she will keep reading The Christian Science Journal to further her understanding of Christian Science. She closes the letter by thanking
Eddy and wishing her prosperity as she continues her "great work of blessing and saving
suffering humanity."
