Editorial Note: Mary Baker Eddy had visited Park Cemetery in Tilton, New Hampshire, to inspect the
recently installed monument to her husband, Asa Gilbert Eddy, and to her parents, Mark Baker and Abigail Baker. The monument was produced by the St. Johnsbury Granite Company. They made a mistake in leaving off the "k" in the "Mark" in Mark Baker's name. R.
W. Laird, the treasurer of the company, writes with a suggestion as to how this could
be corrected, although he mistakenly identifies Mark's last name as "Eddy" in the
letter. (Laird's suggestion here was not implemented. See 043.14.002 for an explanation
of how the correction was made.)
