Accession: 710AP1.85.037
Editorial Title: Martha W. Selmser to Mary Baker Eddy, December 11, 1883
Author: Martha W. Selmser
Recipient: Mary Baker Eddy
Date: December 11, 1883
Manuscript Description: Handwritten by Martha W. Selmser on embossed lined paper from Utica, New York.
Editorial Note: Selmser tells Mary Baker Eddy that she wrote to her some time ago but is disappointed that she never heard back. Selmser has a sick daughter who she would have liked to place under Eddy's care, but she says that such a course of action would be objected to. Selmser has been studying Eddy's book, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. If she had the means, she would also like to come to Boston to study with Eddy and learn to be with Christ to such an extent that she is not aware of the ailments of the body. She describes a few ailments she has, but says that otherwise she is active and that "age sits lightly on her." She is fifty but people tell her she does not look older than forty. She hopes that Eddy will write to her.
