Editorial Note: The 1886 Annual Meeting of the New England Dental Society
included a paper by Edward N.
Harris on “Christian Science, Or Metaphysical
Treatment in Dentistry.” His paper was reported on in the November
1886 issue of The Christian Science
Journal as “a credit to the author and his theme, and was
listened to with much interest and marks of respect.” Harris was a student of
Mary Baker Eddy and from 1884
until 1887 he advertised as a dentist in The Christian Science
Journal. He had previously spoken at other conferences on the topic of
Christian Science and dentistry.
