2-13-16 | 14 | Matthew. |
" | Argument against the spiritual phenomena
" | " in favor of the spiritual sense only of the scriptures.
22 | " | The principle going before the shadow.--------------- |
15 | " | A call for matter to feed on, and the reply of Truth. |
26-27 | " | Guide in a chemical. |
28-29. | " | Truth calling upon Error, and the fear of |
30. | " | error causing it to lose As Written: loose sight of Truth. |
2-3. | 15 | An enquiry of Error why Truth hath left the traditions of the elders, in that it takes no matter form in heal- the sick Wisdom answers, why do ye transgress the commandments of God by your traditions? |
4 5-6. |
You should honor the Father which is your principle. The error which curseth this Wisdom let him die the death of error.
" " | But whosoever says, I have given the gift of healing, dishonors his Father, Wisdom.
7-8. | Ye Hypocrites which draweth near to wisdom with the lips, while the heart is far from it; i.e.As Written:i e, the understanding is not in Truth while they claim to know it.
9. | Such as teach for their doctrines the beliefs of man, need not claim to worship wisdom, for Truth says it is in vain.
11. | It is not that which produces only a sensation, which defiles a man, or idea, but when the reason accepts it as a belief that it cometh out of the mouth, and is that which defileth.
12. | Truth, or its disciples As Written: diciples , said to wisdom this saying hath offended Error:
13. | Truth replied, every root or belief which wisdom hath not planted shall be rooted up.
14. | Error is the blind leading the blind and both shall fall into the ditch.
15-16. | A. disciple As Written: diciple of truth asks for the explanation of the above; when Truth replies, are you yet without understanding this?
17. | Truth explains, by saying, that which is received through the personal senses goes into a waste place, for it is not yet really believed, hence it is cast out into the draught.
18. | But those things which cometh out of the mouth i.e.As Written:i e, which can be talked have been received into the understanding, and therefore believed, if they came from the heart; and those are they which produce the results of error in sickness, immorality, and death, thus defiling the whole idea man.
Verses. | Chap. | Matthew. |
19-20. | 15 | Enumerating the errors which defile an idea, or man, but not a mere ceremony neglected can defile a man: such as washing the hands, or in other words, making appearances good. |
21.22. | Truth enters the atmosphere of another idea and an error calls for it, being convicted of its own worthlessness to heal the sick and asks that it will restore one of its own offspring from error to truth, i.e.As Written:i e, heal her own daughter.
23-24. | Truth replies "not yet," when its disciples As Written: diciples , or minor truths, besought it to send away the error, because it called upon them.
" " | Then the truth answered, "I am sent by wisdom to save those ideas so misguided as to be lost in error, for such science has come to save"
25. | Then this seeking and misguided idea did homage to the truth for such love, and asked it to help her:
26. | But Truth replies, it is unfit to take that which those only can understand to whom I have explained it, and give to those ignorant of my science:
27. | Yes, says error, but even I can eat, or understand, the crumbs i.e.As Written:i e, the smallest bits of your science which fall from the table or treasure house, where truth is served by science to all who can partake of it.
28. | When Truth seeing how great was this trust of ignorance and of error in that which was unrevealed, gives it the reward of belief, viz, restored its sick offspring, i.e.As Written:i e, changed an error to truth-and this daughter was made whole from that very hour.
29. 30-31. |
Now Truth departs from this idea (but not until it leaves its own identity there) and goes into an exaltation & takes a seat in the midst of multitudinous thoughts which it understands: and the lame in belief, the dumb, maimed et ceteraAs Written:&c. cast themselves down, that is, surrendered these errors of belief to the truth which could heal them by destroying their belief in these manmade As Written: man-made conditions, insomuch that multitudes of beliefs glorified this wisdom by seeing the Truth which wrought through science this change.
32. | Then Truth called upon other truths and said I have compassion on these errors because they have sought of me wisdom many days and do not understand me yet, but I will not bid them to depart in this ignorance or they will become discouraged and call not again while in the way with me.
33. | But the minor truths marvel at the possibility of there being sufficient of the bread of life, which was truth--in the waste of their untaught understandings to fill so many enquiries after it.
Verses. | Chap. | Matthew. |
34 | 15 | But the truth itself, which was Jesus, replies by the enquiry, how much do you understand already? they replied only seven ideas and a few small swimmers As Written: swimers after more. |
35.37. | And Truth commands the multitude of error to sit on the ground, that is, to return to the element dust or matter in its first form of belief, and then in this solution, as before it was created, truth dissolves the beliefs of matter and takes its seven errors and the other seekers and gives thanks to wisdom for this science whereby it dissolves them, and their understandings partakes of the truth and is filled and takes up seven measures more of truth than it had in the beginning.
38. | And four thousand errors were fed with truth, adding unto these the weaker sort all the offspring of these error.
39. | And now this ministry of truth sends away the seekers and enters matter to explore another condition.
Chap | ||
1 2-3-4. |
16. | The vanity of error desires a sign through matter, which to wisdom is only a temptation. Reply of Truth-- Ye can judge of the atmosphere of this earth, then why not discern the signs in the atmosphere of the spiritual senses? A wicked or erring and adulterous generation, i.e.As Written:i e, mixing truth with error in your understanding there shall no sign be given you but the demonstration of matter in the destruction of my body, and my reappearingAs Written:re-appearing in truth, which was the sign foretold by Jonas the Prophet. |
5-6-7-8-9. 12. |
The disciples As Written: diciples forget to take bread--Truth reproves them for not recollecting the control which it holds over the understanding, to multiply their truth as by a miracle in matter. The leaven of the Pharisees was unleavened bread in which they placed their intelligence; the leaven which Jesus named, was truth; and it was the doctrine of this sect of Pharisees which He warned against.
13-14. | Jesus asks his followers whom do men i.e.As Written:i e, error, say that I, Jesus am?They replied, the dead which work through you--and named them--is the opinion of some.
15-16. | But he wishes to know whom the truth thought it was which worked his works? and Peter replied, Thou art the Truth which is the science of wisdom which lives, and never dies.
17-18. | And Truth recognizes this, and blessed the understanding of its discipleAs Written:diciple, and assures him that the knowledge of man never told him this, but the principle of wisdom dwelling in happiness; moreoverAs Written:morover, that upon this understanding of me, which is the Truth, I Truth will build my church i.e.As Written:i e, the sanctuary wherein I would be honored and the beliefs which shall be established upon this foundation are the members of this my church, which the ways to hell, or error, cannot prevail against so as to destroy it.
Verses. | Chap. | Matthew. |
19. | 16 | And unto this understanding will I, truth, give the explanation which shall unlock the kingdom of happiness; and whatsoever they explanations bind of error, shall be held in happiness bound from farther evil, and whatsoever is bound by error, and Truth unloose, shall be free in happiness. |
20. | Tell no error of this, -Truth- that I am it, until I am understood.
21. | From this time the instruction was how that error should kill this truth by the religion which held that the Christ had not yet appeared; and it should reappearAs Written:re-appear the 3rd day.
22. | But one of its disciples As Written: diciples named Peter rebuked the saying calling upon truth to dismiss such a necessity.
23. | But it turned unto this lack of wisdom and bade it to pass from him into forgetfulness, calling it an offense which understood not the wisdom of such a demonstration through matter, that error should destroy the body or matter ideas so that the principle might reproduceAs Written:re-produce itself to the eyes of men, while truth knew that Peter saw not this; but was looking at the dread which error most feel at such an hour as the crucifixion.
24. | But truth insists upon the condition of self-sacrificeAs Written:self sacrifice to matter, saying--if any man or idea error would follow truth, it must deny that it is truth, and gain through suffering the triumph over matter or error.
25. | For to serve error, is to lose As Written: loose the life in it, and to destroy error, is to live in wisdom.
26. | And what is the gain to know all that is called knowledge, and lose As Written: loose wisdom thereby? or what would be given in exchange for immortality and Truth? which is in wisdom & alone, hath life and immortality?
27. | For a time cometh when the identity in matter, which is the son of man, shall come in the glory of the principle with science obtained through the demonstration of death and resurrection, and this science is the messenger to the spiritual senses which he shall bring with him, and then shall error, or the idea man learn that his success depends in wisdom upon science, which rewards a work just according to its truth, or error,: that is, all is right, harmonious and happy, wrought by the science of truth, all is wrong and inharmonious wrought through knowledge in error.
28. | There are some standing here that shall not change their idea man until they see my identity in the principle of wisdom establishing the reign over error.
1-2. | 17. | An exaltation of truth apart from the body,--in which its face was bright and clear to the understanding as the sun of our material world and the arguments of it were pure as whiteness |
3-4. | And the idea, Moses which was the law and the prophecies of Truth which were the idea Elias, He, Christ communed with.
Verses. | Chap. | Matthew. |
17. | ||
4-5. | Then one of the believers in this truth felt that it were a good thing to see this moment of a higher perception of unrevealed truth which controlled As Written: controled the phenomena and desired to give a part of it in the explanation to a principle and a part to prophecy. But while he spake a bright idea presented itself through knowledge whereby he learned from its voice or utterance that this was Truth alone and no matter idea contained in it i.e.As Written:i e, that it was a phenomena which was outside of matter and desired to be heard and understood. |
