1st VisionEditorial Note: Eddy periodically had visions in which scenes would appear before her while awake. The imagery of the visions often symbolized aspects of circumstances in her life at the time they occurred. 1872,

I was pitched out of a boat into the sea and went down. While going down a clear consciousness came to me that I could have no human aid and must go to the bottom. When I reached the bottom out of the depths He called mePs 130:1 Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord. the view was terrific. Green slime covered it and the most horrible reptiles hissed around me, but immediately a ray of light came down through the water and there burst in upon me the most gorgeous As Written: gorgios sunlight "and there was no more SeaRev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. "
