Subject--“Fear”

1st John 4.18 “There is no fear in love but perfect love casteth out fear, because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love”I John 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

We shall treat this subject from a metaphysical standpoint it may be ambiguous to those unfamiliar with metaphysics but it will be found benefical in proportion as you do apprehend working of fear on both mind and body

1st What is Fear

2nd What is the physical effect of fear

3rd What is its effect spiritually

Fear is an element and an action of erring thought

Fear is servile

Fear is an ignorance - youth, age -

Fear is an error

Spirit in Hebrew is Ruach, in Greek Pneuma Pneuma it signifies thoughts good or evil; affections care, etc, eg though absent in flesh yet am I with you in spiritCol 2:5 For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. In Samuel the evil spirit from God came upon SaulI Sam 16:14 ¶But the spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him. I Sam 16:15 And Saul’s servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. I Sam 16:23 And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him. I Sam 18:10 ¶And it came to pass on the morrow, that the evil spirit from God came upon Saul, and he prophesied in the midst of the house: and David played with his hand, as at other times: and there was a javelin in Saul’s hand. I Sam 19:9 And the evil spirit from the Lord was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand. the Scripture speaks of the spirit of Wisdom, the spirit of knowledge, the spirit of understandingIsa 11:2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;

Isaiah 43rd When thou passeth through the waters, I will be with thee, and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee; When thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned, nether shall the flame kindle upon theeIsa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
